Information Services/AMS Update

This is the third posting in a series of blog follow-ups to the recent board meeting. In this installment, we’ll take a closer look at what’s happening in the information services department, focusing primarily on the new AMS.

But first, are you wondering what the acronym “AMS” stands for? You’ve probably heard people talking about it recently. Maybe you’ve even nodded knowingly during a discussion about AMS at a recent cocktail party, only to wonder hours later if you were signaling that you, too, suffer from a rather embarrassing medical condition. But, it’s too late to ask now. So, let us help you out – AMS stands for Association Management Software.

Phew, you feel better, don’t you? And you’re going to feel even better than better when you discover what AMS can do for you! The culmination of several years of work, PSIA-AASI will now be managed, across all divisions, by a super advanced system designed to streamline association services and heighten your member experience.

That means you will be able to:
•    Search for courses and register online
•    Pay dues online
•    View your complete education history
•    Receive email communication related to events and services

We will be able to:
•    Increase accuracy of member records
•    Improve online reporting of member education history
•    Keep you updated on member news and events

And that’s just the beginning. Ultimately, other upgrades and system customizations will be enabled to make your experience, at both the national and divisional levels, totally seamless, and management of your personal account effortless.

Before we let you go (we know how anxious you are to go talk AMS now that you know what it means), a BIG SHOUT OUT to the department staff who have worked tirelessly to launch this software, as well as the board of directors who have supported the project, and the divisions who have worked so cooperatively throughout the implementation.

Stay tuned for next week’s continuation of the BOD recap saga, when we’ll hear from the communications department.
