PSIA National Academy 2009: Part II

Academy wrapped up last night with a bang during a huge celebration, including video highlights of the week, slideshow, toast and tales.

We talked to Kathrin Fox, second-year Academy participant from Arizona Snowbowl, who says that it’s during this week that everything comes together for her with, “tons of light bulbs going off from day one.”

She skied with team member Dave Lundberg and describes the education at the event as a great value – incredible coaching for what it costs to attend. Other coaches who gave Fox a lot of bang for her buck include staffer Earl Saline who led her tele clinic, team members Robin Barnes and Jennifer Simpson with whom she skied in a women’s group, and team Captain Michael Rogan who provided video coaching.

Fox’s fellow attendees, including pros from Virginia to Alaska, joined in praising their clinic leaders and fellow participants, saying that this event is truly the highlight of the season.

Though sponsors have packed up their demos, feet are getting a breather from ski boots, lenses have gone back on cameras, planks are loaded on roof racks, and hangovers are setting in, the memories, however fuzzy, are already bringing smiles to the faces of everyone  who left tracks on Snowbird’s spring slopes.
