Executive Director Receives Leadership Honor

The American Society of Association Executives & The Center for Association Leadership (ASAE) has named PSIA-AASI Executive Director Mark Dorsey to its 2010 class of Fellows. Dorsey, who has served as PSIA-AASI’s executive director and chief executive officer since 2006, is one of just five inductees selected this year for the prestigious designation. The ASAE Fellows program recognizes individual accomplishments and contributions to the association community, and its members serve as ambassadors, role models, and mentors for the association community.

An active member of ASAE since 1992, Dorsey served on its Research Committee from 2004 to 2010, including a term as chair (2007–2009). He holds a master of business administration (MBA) degree from the University of Colorado and earned ASAE’s certified association executive (CAE) designation in 2003. Dorsey served as PSIA-AASI’s assistant executive director (2005–06) and marketing director (1989–2005) before taking the reins as the association’s executive director. A Certified Level III alpine instructor, he teaches part-time in Colorado.

“Being named a Fellow is a reflection of the tremendous work by PSIA-AASI volunteers and staff,” said Dorsey, “and it is gratifying to see PSIA-AASI in such elite company.”
