ISHA Honors Stu Campbell
The late Stu Campbell is the recipient of the International Skiing History Association’s 2009 Skiing History Pioneer Award. Campbell, the second winner of the award,
will be posthumously recognized for his contributions to the sport. Regarded as one of America’s most influential ski teachers, he was deeply invested in the advancement of technique and equipment. Campbell’s wife, Carol West Campbell, will accept the award in his memory.
In addition, Stu was among a group of eight athletes and snowsports supporters who were recently selected for induction to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in Ishpeming, Michigan. The induction ceremony for the class of 2009 will be held April 9, 2010 in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Campbell also received the Vermont Ski Museum’s Paul Robbins Award for ski journalism in 2008.
