Other faves:
- Travel destination: 1) Home 2) New Zealand
- Current TV show: South Park
- Movie: That’s It, That’s All or It’s Always Snowing Somewhere

Name one unusual talent you possess: I haven’t found it yet; it’s too well hidden.

What would you say to someone not involved in snowsports to encourage him or her to try skiing or riding? Remember that sense of stoke and accomplishment when you first rode your bike without training wheels or someone holding on?

What do you typically eat for breakfast? Coffee

What song title best describes a typical day of work at PSIA-AASI? “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap,” by AC/DC

Who are your favorite bands or musicians? Jimmy Buffet, just about anything on the Sirius satellite channel Hair Nation

Coolest place you have ever been: Wanaka, New Zealand

What’s your best snowsports memory? Hmmm, any 18-inch powder day after working for several in a row (fortunately, this has happened several times). But, the ONE that always sticks in my mind is when I was riding Chair 2 at Mission Ridge, Washington, on a bluebird day in the middle of the week. This was a 20-minute chair ride at the time and I was about three-quarters of the way up. I could hear a child’s laughter from up ahead, but there wasn’t anyone on the chair in front of me. I was coming over a rise and couldn’t see the kid skiing down but could clearly hear the laughter. The sense of pure joy and fun conveyed in that simple sound has always stuck in my mind. This moment captures a portion of what the true sense of sliding means to me.

Top three off-snow activities:
1) Hanging out with my wife
2) Golf
3) Being on and around water

I would like to meet . . . Sherman Poppen because he helped change the face of snowsports forever.

PSIA-AASI makes me . . . a better person.

Describe your first ski/ride outfit: Nylon bibs with a cheesy nylon jacket (think Kmart)

What’s your favorite flavor of Lifesaver? Lime

What’s your snowsports goal? To be the oldest person teaching at whatever mountain I end up at
