About Dave

Dave’s love of skiing and ski racing was instilled in him largely by his mother, who was a member of the Canadian National Alpine Ski Team in her youth. Dave had a successful racing career at the University of Wyoming. Named NCAA All-American three consecutive years and Rocky Mountain Overall Champion twice, he later coached the school’s development team. In 1985, Dave was named to the U.S. Ski Team, where he achieved career high National rankings of 5th in slalom and 15th in giant slalom.  He then raced on the Pro Tour until 1990. In 1994, Dave took over the family ski school and founded Dave Lyon Summer Ski Camps. In his free time, Dave leads ski and ski racing clinics, coaches football and chases his two boys all over the mountain. Dave returns for his third term as a member of the PSIA Alpine Team.
