About David

A new member and the first park & pipe specialist on the PSIA Alpine Team, David began teaching in New Mexico at Taos Ski Valley and later at Angel Fire Resort until his move to Colorado. He developed the freestyle education program and has been the lead freestyle examiner for PSIA-Rocky Mountain for the last five years. He also assisted in developing the “Get-A-Clue” and “Go With A Pro” PSIA-AASI campaigns. David has competed for three years as a Breckenridge Demonstration Team member and in seven out of the last eight U.S. Freeskiing Opens.

Vital Stats

Hometown: Taos, NM

Resort: Breckenridge, CO

Sponsors: Dynastar/Lange, Smith Optics & Helmets, Level Gloves, Surefoot

Favorite run: Valkerie Chute (Taos Ski Valley, NM)

Favorite travel destination:
Disney World

Favorite ski destination:
Any resort I’m at when you ask me

Ski morning breakfast: Coffee. Unless there’s a buffet, then it’s on like Donkey Kong.

Apres style: Walk home to decompress, unless night skiing calls me. Keystone A51 at night is sick.

Top three off-snow activities:
1) Skateboarding
2) Playing PS2 or PS3
3) Rebuilding/fabricating anything mechanical

I would like to meet. . . Dara Torres (the Olympic swimmer) because she is still in the game long after everyone thought that she couldn’t.

Can usually be found: Most mornings during the winter I can be found in the Village Children’s Yard, at the base of Peak 9 in Breckenridge. I love to hang out and entertain the confused Level 1 groups; they are awesome. Because the kids are so confused and sometimes scared, it's fun to just talk to a whole group of kids and make them feel a little easier about what’s going to happen.

Snowsports goal: To ride with as many different people as I can.
