Doug Pierini
About Doug
After part-time seasonal work at Plattekill Mountain Ski Area in New York and racing for the Rutgers University Ski Team, Doug worked at Squaw Valley Resort in California and Steamboat Resort in Colorado for two years before moving to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. While teaching at Jackson he raised over $5,000 for Teton County Search and Rescue by setting a record for the most trams skied in a business day. He was also a competitor on the freeskiing tour from 1997 to 2000. In 2003, Doug took a job as ski and snowboard school director at Sierra-at-Tahoe, California, and in 2007 moved to the north side of Lake Tahoe, where he is the director of resort services and ski school at Alpine Meadows Resort and Homewood Mountain Resort. Doug has taught at Mt. Buller in Australia and in Portillo, Chile. A sailboat captain and avid racer, in 1998 he captained a 60-foot ocean-racing sailboat to victory in the classic Newport-Bermuda race. This is Doug’s third term as a PSIA Alpine Team member.
