PSIA-AASI Adaptive Academy
PSIA-AASI offers Adaptive continuing education each year at Disabled Sports USA’s The Hartford Ski Spectacular event. The event takes place each December at Breckenridge in Colorado. The 2009 event was held December 6-11 with PSIA-AASI offering five days of Adaptive continuing education in all areas of adaptive instruction. The curriculum is designed to offer knowledge and training to both experienced adaptive instructors as well as instructors who are interested in learning more about adaptive instruction. Focuses include skier/rider improvement, disability assessment, equipment setup and assessment, teaching best practices, staff and volunteer training, and much more. New for 2009 is the Administrative Track designed to offer both new and veteran Adaptive snowsports school managers ideas and information on adaptive snowsports school management.
