Took a season ending fall last week heard a pop in my right knee and had a nice ride off the mountain by sled. Will be going in wed for another look at the right knee. The doctor at this time thinks its just a strain/ tear of the medial meniscus. I have a feeling there is more to it hopping for the best and expecting the worse. My question is for anyone that has had this kind of injury other then ice and poss need for surgery what where some things that you did to help with the healling and rehab of the knee

I had a torn meniscus in ‘06.  I never heard a pop, which tells me that it might be more than just the meniscus.  However, if it is, don’t do anything until you end up in PT (you will end up there if you don’t have surgery, or afterwards).  There isn’t much you can do now.  But, do everything the PT says.  I was back on the snow 28 days post surgery!

I also heard a pop in really heavy mashed potatoes (Alta)and enjoyed the sled - at the end of the season.  I took it easy and while dr. set me up for a look see ... after seeing all the rehab equipment I asked if this might get better on its own w/o surgery.  He said possibly - and it did and I have had NO problems since.  Please consider that you may have lessor or more damage than I.  & I agree - PT when done religisouly is mandatory.
