Freeride Team Head Coach - Come for the winter, stay for a lifetime!
Share your passion and knowledge of coaching Freeride skiing and snowboarding with our Freeride Team athletes by joining the team and “family” at the Meadows Learning Center on Mt. Hood, Oregon. The Freeride Team Coach will create educational and physical development programs for our growing Freeride Team’s competitive and development team athletes – currently the team is 30 athletes with 70% skiers and 30% snowboarders with our goal being to increase the time size to 50 or more by the 2020-21 season. You will help promote the team and grow participation as well as be responsible for making certain that consistent staffing goals are met in both alpine and snowboard disciplines, that all instructors / coaches are properly trained and/or certified, and that the program aligns with USASA development guidelines. With the team’s current size, the Freeride Team Head Coach is also a Learning Center Instructor and will teach lessons during non-Freeride Team operational days (1 to 2 days per week) as well as coach a Freeride Team group during Freeride Team program operational days which are weekends December – March, plus three 3-day camps during holidays. The Freeride Team Head Coach may be needed to travel to USASA Regional and National events on a case by case basis.

The Freeride Team grew out of our Learning Center multi-week lesson programs and the Learning Center department has a staff of 80+ full time instructors and 300+ part time instructors with both day and night lesson operations – most of our Freeride Team coaches are instructors with PSIA-AASI Certifications and Freestyle Specialist credentials.
