In cooperation with PSIA, SKI Magazine and Warren Miller Entertainment expanded their video-based online courses to include skiing. The ski-instruction course, “How to Break Through,” and the action-filmmaking course “Adventure Film School,” are the latest additions to Active Interest Media’s (AIM) AIM Adventure U.
SKI partnered with PSIA-AASI to film the nine-part “How to Break Through,” online instruction course at Solitude Resort in Utah. Students take the course at their own pace, and have 24/7 access to the content so they can review each lesson at their convenience. From a PSIA-AASI perspective, an especially exciting aspect of this new initiative is that it helps the association work toward one of its strategic initiatives, namely growth in public awareness of the value of PSIA-AASI members.
PSIA Alpine Team Coach and SKI Director of Instruction Michael Rogan, who is featured in each lesson, said, “This course has been built with the general public in mind, but there is a lot of useful information for the ski pro. A goal was to get the ski pro thinking about different ways to go about enabling our students to learn. I hope it becomes a recommendation to all our students. There is plenty of information for all parties to find something useful.”
