A new series of instructional videos PSIA-AASI produced in collaboration with Warren Miller Entertainment and SKI Magazine highlight how important it is to take a lesson with a snow pro, especially when you’re trying to master more technical terrain.
The videos, which cover top tips on how to ski everything from bumps and crud to trees and steeps, went online this fall with the existing instructional “Clinic” content in SKI Magazine. Each video highlights PSIA Alpine Team members discussing three technical considerations for improving your skiing performance in a given condition, and also encourages SKI’s readers to book a lesson with a pro at their local hill.
Here are links to each of the eight PSIA Tips videos:
How to Carve Your Skis on Hard Snow with PSIA Alpine Team Coach Michael Rogan
How to Ski Powder with PSIA Alpine Team member Robin Barnes
How to Ski Crud with PSIA Alpine Team member Jennifer Simpson
How to Ski Steeps with PSIA Alpine Team member Eric Lipton
The Best Techniques for Skiing with Kids with PSIA Alpine Team member Dave Lyon
How to Ski Spring Conditions with Dave Lyon
Skiing Trees with PSIA Alpine Team member Stephen Helfenbein
How to Ski Moguls with PSIA Alpine Team member Brenna Kelleher
As reported here earlier, SKI also produced a nine-part “How to Break Through” video series with PSIA Alpine Team Coach Michael Rogan. From a PSIA-AASI perspective, this fee-based course helps the association work toward one of its strategic initiatives, namely growth in public awareness of the value of PSIA-AASI members.
Rogan said both partnerships provide an exciting opportunity to promote the value of professional instruction to SKI’s active alpine followers, emphasizing how enthusiasts can up their game no matter what their level of expertise.
“For PSIA-AASI members, this provides more opportunities for our organization to be exposed to the general skiing public,” said Rogan. “This type of project is instrumental in promoting the idea that instruction is critical in helping people ski well and continue to improve, whether you’re an intermediate, advanced skier, or professional athlete competing with the best skiers in the world.”
PSIA-AASI members can access the course at a special rate through the Pro Offers right here.
