Maximize Learning with The Matrix Videos

Ski and snowboard instructors getting ready to return to the hill for the start of the 2017-18 season can take their skiing and riding skills to the next level by accessing The Matrix, an online video library with content produced and hosted by the Professional Ski Instructors of America and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI).

The unique resource covers a variety of topics including terrain features, skill development, and exam tasks, and off-snow presentations. With videos for every discipline, adaptive, alpine, cross country, telemark, and snowboard, snowsports teachers can find videos and training tools that fit  individual learning goals for the season.

“The Matrix is a one-stop hub video library for skiing and riding improvement, training, and snowsports teaching endeavors, be they personal or professional,” says Dave Schuiling, PSIA-AASI director of education. “This dynamic tool is designed to provide something for everyone in every sliding discipline, and it is proving to be an indispensable supplement to PSIA-AASI training.”

“Video is a great way to enhance the learning experience and stay connected to all of the action, even when you’re off the slopes,” says Ashely Woodard, PSIA-AASI’s digital marketing specialist. “Filters allow you to easily sort through the online videos so you can find content related to the terrain or tasks you want to improve on. The Matrix has information you won’t find anywhere else.”

The Matrix features more than 300 videos with voiceover, with new content added on a weekly basis. The Matrix also allows users to comment and upload their own videos. Use the Matrix to access visual examples of skills concepts, situational skiing and snowboarding, and drills. The Matrix is located on thesnowpros.org under the education tab. PSIA-AASI members can login to their account to watch The Matrix video content on a computer, smartphone, or tablet.
