With many of our nation’s kids -- and teachers -- preparing for a new school season, we thought it would be timely to share two recent PSIA-AASI First Chair Podcasts discussing the ongoing initiatives of the Education Leadership Council and the PSIA Alpine Task Force.

Jeb Boyd Chats Education Leadership Council
PSIA-AASI Team Manager Jeb Boyd talks about the Education Leadership Council. The group is the “education arm” of PSIA-AASI, and is made up of the association’s divisional education leaders. Hear how the ELC is working to focus on consistency, learning outcomes, and teaching fundamentals to improve the development and certification process for everyone.

Rick Lyons of Whitefish, Mont., discusses his role on PSIA-AASI’s Alpine Task Force, a recent meeting the group held, and the work the task force undertook to review PSIA’s national alpine standards. These national standards help guide PSIA-AASI members’ training and studying and represent the minimum level of competency expected for each level of PSIA-AASI certification.
