Salomon Garners SKI Mag ‘Gear of the Year’ Award, Opens Pro Sales to Level IIs

Official PSIA-AASI Supplier Salomon was among the brands to earn a ‘Gear of the Year’ award in the December issue of SKI Magazine. The brand’s S/MAX Carbon 130 alpine ski boot and the S/Lab Shift MNC ski binding were the two Salomon products recognized.

Of the boot, SKI Magazine noted that, “The shell and liner are both heat-moldable to make fitting easy, but the stiff carbon insert in the lower shell snugly cradles the lower foot, virtually eliminating energy loss between the leg and ski while making this boot lighter than most other race-performance options.”

Jon Jay, SKI’s gear and digital editor said of the award, “The product has to be either entirely new or entirely redesigned within the past two seasons and feature innovative technology,” and noted the carbon Coreframe in the S/MAX boot, as well as the toe piece of the Shift binding.

This should all come as especially exciting news to PSIA members as Salomon is expanding its pro sale pricing to include LIII and now LII Alpine instructors this season. To shop Salomon products, and all official supplier gear, log-in to the Pro Offers page right here.
