The Outdoor Retailer Snow Show hits Denver at the end of January, where snow pros can get a preview of next season’s ski and snowboards. But here, PSIA-AASI Official Supplier Nordica is all ready to unveil the brand’s new Spitfire RBS ski collection.
Each ski in the Spitfire RBS Collection – the 72 RB, 76 RB, and 80 RB – features the same state-of-the-art construction but in three distinct waist widths and is built to let advanced to expert skiers own any piste. Building on Nordica’s reputation for bridging the gap between World Cup racing performance and all-day racing fun, the Spitfires have the soft turning ease of a slalom ski, with the stiffer, powerful attributes of a GS ski in the body and tail.
The skis all feature a Nordica Recoil Plate to dampen vibrations effectively, increase edge angle substantially, and transmit energy more directly. A Carbon Chassis adds more power and liveliness at a lighter weight, and World Cup Technology in a Race Bridge Construction includes a full wood core and two sheets of metal over the edges.
The Spitfire 72 RB performs at its best on well-groomed, icy slopes, and is built for stability, responsiveness, and more demanding hold on hard surfaces, with dimensions of 102-72-122 mm. The Spitfire 76 RB is for mostly groomed, softer snow, where it is more versatile, fun, and forgiving, with dimensions of 106-76-126 mm. And the Spitfire 80 RB, with dimensions of 110-80-130 mm, is for ungroomed conditions, junk snow, and crud, for adventuresome skiers who want more power in their off-piste turn.
In this video from Mt. Snow, Vermont, PSIA Alpine Team Coach Michael Rogan goes into detail about all the snow pro-specific attributes of this exciting new collection.
