Adaptive Alpine/Snowboarding Cognitive Diagnoses Online Prep Clinic
The Adaptive Alpine/Snowboarding Cognitive Diagnoses Online Prep Clinic is an online interactive clinic. It consists of two 2-1/2-hour videoconferences, plus homework.
On successful completion of this clinic (and with additional studying and practice), you will be able to:
1. Articulate some of the most common cognitive diagnoses
2. Describe commonly-prescribed classes of medications
3. Perform a guest assessment
4. Create a progressive lesson
5. Use teaching models, such as the Teaching/Learning Cycle, Learning Style Preferences
6. Incorporate Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and Guest-Centered Teaching concepts into your lessons
In each class, we discuss the skiing, teaching and technical skills that are evaluated against PSIA National Standards. While this clinic is designed as a preparatory clinic for those taking their Alpine Level 1 & 2 Cognitive/Visually Impaired Exam, anyone who wants to enhance their Cognitive lessons can benefit from the clinic.
Format: This clinic utilizes GoToMeeting, a web-hosted service for online video conferencing. Prior to each week’s class, you are given a link and a password for the online meeting. You can use either a desktop or mobile device to connect to the meeting and you can receive audio via computer or phone. The presentation and video are shown via sharing of the instructor’s desktop. Throughout each class, there are discussions and online questions to encourage participation. Note: You must be present for both classes in order to receive PSIA credit.

It’s rare that we cancel an entire event unless the resort/area is closed, but we often find it necessary to cancel or combine sessions at an event because the session minimum has not been met. When this happens, we will contact you as early as possible and offer other session options at the same event or transfer you to another event. Cancellation and transfer fees do not apply under these circumstances. If we cancel a session you are registered for, and it is not possible for you to attend another event by the end of the season, your registration fee sub any administrative fees will be refunded. If you are in need of education credits for this season then all possible pathways must be exhausted before a waiver is granted. (Webinars, Non ASEA Events, etc.)
