Course Description:

The Level 1 certification exam is a one-day assessment of the candidate's skiing skills, teaching skills, and technical understanding of skiing and teaching. This process will allow for certification candidates to receive feedback and education during the assessment process. It is expected but not required that candidates have undergone training in their home school prior to the assessment. This exam will be delivered by a single certification examiner.

NIM Level 1 Assessment

Description: In this assessment, candidates will be asked to demonstrate their understanding/application of The Learning Connection Model. They will be assessed on their ski performance, technical knowledge, lesson delivery, and professional behavior through the beginner zone. Candidates will receive coaching and education, as appropriate, over the two days and are expected to come prepared with the proper knowledge. Before the on-snow event, candidates must have completed the Alpine Level 1 E-Learning course. It is recommended that candidates complete at least 25 teaching hours before taking the Level 1 assessment. It is expected but not required that candidates have undergone training in their home school prior to the assessment. This exam will be delivered by a single certification examiner.
