Course Description:
Skiing 300 is a personal skiing improvement clinic only open to alpine level III certified members. It focuses on refinement of fundamental skills and skill blending, and on developing some higher-level skills and a broader range of versatility. Participants will experience challenging situations and tasks and will work on skills and tactics to manage those challenges. This is a fast paced clinic with continuous skiing.
Learning Experiences:
Specific activities will vary depending on the group and environmental conditions; however, they will typically include:
• Performing a variety of activities and tasks in varied terrain to improve individual performance above the National Level III Standard.
• Participants will be skiing at speeds for advanced zone skiers; while maintaining control at expert speeds
• Emphasis will be on how to accurately blend skills to accomplish the required tasks while adjusting turn shape in all conditions and situations
• The fundamental movements will be identified in all tasks and blended through all turn phases and from turn to turn producing dynamic, rhythmic turns in all conditions and situations.
• Participants will be able to vary rate and timing on demand, with regard to tactical considerations for any defined ski performance outcome.
