Course Description:
The Certified Level I process consists of an assessment of basic skiing skills, teaching skills, and professional knowledge (which refers to technical and mechanical knowledge, adaptive equipment, medication classification, as well as knowledge of guest service, PSIA, the ski industry, and risk management). Candidates should be prepared to lead the group through some basic ski instruction scenarios. Please refer to the Alpine and Adaptive Assessment Guides and reference information for complete details at https://easternsnowpros.org/education/adaptive/. We highly recommend reviewing the National Standards. All candidates are required to complete the online Alpine component Level I eLearning course as well as the Adaptive Professional Knowledge exam for the discipline you are being evaluated in. These must be completed prior to registering for the on-snow evaluation. Successful candidates will receive both Alpine Level I Certification as well as Adaptive Level I Certification.
