Job Description:

The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) is seeking passionate, hard-working individuals with ski instruction experience to join our staff for the 2022/2023 winter season! We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to expand the potential of people with disabilities and special needs through meaningful, educational and inspiring outdoor experiences. Our winter program aims to meet this goal through exceptional adaptive ski and snowboard lessons. At BOEC we strive to support participants’ independence and autonomy while providing them with skills they can translate from the slopes to their everyday lives. As an instructor for BOEC, you will work 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 (supported by a volunteer or intern) with students, providing a safe, fun and effective learning experience. You will teach the majority of your lessons at Breckenridge Resort, on some of the best learning terrain in the world. Throughout the winter, you may also have the opportunity to expand your skill set by providing lessons at the nearby Keystone and Copper Mountain Resorts.

As you consider applying to work with us, please note that this is both a highly demanding and deeply rewarding job. You will be required to spend extended periods of time outside in a high-altitude winter environment, as well as maintain the lofty standards of risk management, patience and flexibility that our clientele requires. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to create positive change each and every day. From providing individuals with the confidence to take on new challenges, to helping students participate in an activity they never thought possible, to giving families a chance to share a sport they love, you will get to experience the joy of making a difference in someone’s life. If this sounds like the job for you, then come join us in the heart of the Colorado Rockies for an unforgettable winter!
