Position Overview

The Operations Intern is responsible for assisting the Assistant Program Director and Program Manager with daily operational tasks, client and volunteer communications, and other miscellaneous tasks as required. The Operations Intern provides outstanding customer service to clients and is often one of the first employees the public will encounter when visiting to the program.


  • The Operations Intern will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Program Director and Program Manager with daily operational tasks which may include but are not limited to:
    • Maintaining and updating various spreadsheets
    • Communicating with participants during the registration process
    • Communicating with volunteers and appropriately scheduling volunteers based on daily need
    • Assisting with the maintenance and management of participant folders
    • Creating and sending invoices in a timely matter
    • Greeting and interacting with participants and family members as they arrive and depart for the day
    • In conjunction with Program Manager, organize volunteer appreciation socials, recognition
    • Assist in volunteer data tracking (hours, training attendance, update contact lists, etc.)
    • When appropriate, assist in training office volunteers
    • Must be able to commit to Sunday-Thursday schedule.
  • The intern will be responsible for developing a project that will be beneficial to the ASC and its daily operations.
  • The intern will be responsible for attending all trainings, orientations, and staff meetings.
  • The intern will be responsible for learning the organizational structure and functions of the ASC program.
  • The intern will conduct their self as outlined in the internship contract and ASC manuals, thus, adhering to all rules, policies, and procedures that apply to all ASC staff.
  • The intern will at all times act in a professional manner, seeking assistance from the intern supervisor, and acting promptly on suggestions for improvement.
  • The intern will be delegated other tasks as assigned and agreed to.


  • Each intern will receive a grocery stipend not to exceed $200.00 a month. The amount and availability of the stipend is pending on the financial condition of the ASC at the beginning of the internship. The availability and amount of the stipend will be determined by the Program Director on a seasonal basis.


  • Housing will be provided for the duration of the internship
