Ski and Ride School Manager

Type of Job: Year Round Full Time

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $2,115.38 to $2,276.92+ biweekly amount, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. May be eligible for a discretionary bonus annually.

Job Description:

Winter Business:

  • The manager is responsible for all aspects of Ski & Ride School Operational Activity.
  • The Manager will lead a team of supervisors, support staff and instructors to deliver exceptional guest experiences, aimed at generating revenue by coaching front-line to drive repeat business from loyalty and retention.
  • Team duties span from recruiting instructors, startup new-hire orientations, ongoing training around operations & services delivery, safety, scheduling, service recovery, interface with other divisions, to employee evaluations, exit interviews and seasonal employee separation.
  • Verifying guest programming (i.e. prices, products, times and locations), understanding and monitoring fluctuating guest volumes, staffing levels, work distribution, as it relates to Lab%Rev are critical activity to succeed.
  • Lead the team (leaders to frontline) with role model behavior both on and off the slopes and being enthusiastically engaged from start to finish are ideal traits.
  • Accepting and being versatile and nimble to handle all miscellaneous projects or duties as assigned are valued. Leading across other leadership functions, as a collaborative team player, will encourage versatility within the school and business.
  • The Manager will assist the Director with strategic programming, recruitment, scheduling, training, recognition, evaluation and partnership agendas to deliver desired commercial results.
  • The Manager will ensure accuracy, privacy, integrity and timeliness for all administrative to service aspects of Ski and Ride School,; deliver exceptional customer service through coaching the entire experiences from start to finish and value all participants linked to SRS including youth, adults, parents and extended family & friends.
  • The Manager will work with all other Copper Mountain departments in all aspects of the business.
  • Creating loyalty and retention of clients via exceptional first experiences, to handling service recovery to win back guests will be a priority.
  • The ultimate goal of the Manager through the team is to drive friendly customer service, value for money experiences and manage the Lab%Rev to achieve net goals, by working with operational mangers & supervisors to handle guest volumes and make the experience rewarding and fun for the employees.

Summer/Fall activity:

  • Will be focused on recruitment, orientation planning, building schedules, documenting SOP’s and training agendas to open strategically, by deploying only the required resources to match the volume throughout the winter.
  • This position is a leadership position in the Ski & Ride School Division. The Manager is expected to lead by example, support core values, service standards, and exhibit appropriate, pro-active, guest-friendly playmaker behavior.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to read Copper Mountain literature & forms
  • Must have the ability to deal with high levels of activity (i.e., phone and
    guest/employee contact) for long periods of time
  • Must be able to have adequate hearing for phone conversations in a noisy environment.
  • Must be able to speak and pronounce the English Language free from error on a consistent basis.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must have fine motor skills
  • Must be able to ski/ride all terrain at Copper Mountain.
