Ski Instructor

The Snowsports Professional provides a positive, fun, and safe environment for skiers/snowboarders to build and develop their skills. Snowsports pros are responsible for the customer experience during lessons and being ambassadors for Mohawk Mountain whenever they are in uniform. Reports to Snowsports Supervisor, Snowsports Director(s).

Essential Duties:

• Instructs customers on the skills of skiing/snowboarding

• Teaches skier etiquette and safe on-hill behavior

• Friendly and helpful host to mountain guests

• Assists with the set-up and take-down of learning center zones

• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Snowsports

Qualifications:

• Must be able to effectively communicate with customers
• Must be able to ski and/or snowboard at an intermediate level or above
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills
• Must have the ability to adapt to unexpected situations
• Must be able to remain calm and portray a friendly demeanor in stressful situations
• Must be flexible with work schedules including weekends and holidays.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work for extended periods outside in all weather conditions
• Must be able to stand and work for extended periods
• Must be able to bend and lift up to 50lbs
• Must own or rent appropriate ski/snowboard gear
• Must have reliable transportation for circumstances of inclement weather

Training:

-Pre-season online or in-person meeting for mountain policies and procedures

-Pre-season training on & off snow
