Alterra Mountain Company entered into an agreement to purchase Solitude Mountain Resort in Utah, which would bring the company’s total destinations to 13 year-round mountain destinations throughout North America.
Alterra also owns Steamboat and Winter Park in Colorado; Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, Mammoth Mountain, June Mountain and Big Bear Mountain Resort in California; Stratton in Vermont; Snowshoe in West Virginia; Tremblant in Quebec, Blue Mountain in Ontario; Deer Valley in Utah; and CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures in British Columbia.

French Resorts Work to Preserve Snow
France had a record-breaking winter, with more snow than many areas had seen in decades. Now, resorts in the country’s Three Valleys ski area are covering up the snow over the summer with sawdust, insulation, and reflective tarps in an effort to preserve the snow for next season.
