According to Waltraud Lenhart, Leki’s late owner and managing partner, taking responsibility for the brand’s actions and producing high-quality products are an integral part of LEKI. Lenhart said, “We were asked once: ‘Why are your repairing all of these old poles, that came back after many years of good service?’ Our answer was simple, ‘Because it´s the right thing to do.’”

Leki products are jointly developed and manufactured in Germany and the Czech Republic to eliminate lengthy supply chains and expensive procurement channels. By using the most modern production processes and manufacturing facilities, the state-of-the-art technology enables the brand to manufacture products while conserving finite resources.

The company also embraces renewable energy, installing the first photovoltaic (solar) system in Leki’s Kirchheim, Germany, location in 2005, which supplies all its energy needs from April to September. Over the year, LEKI generates 7% more electricity than total energy consumption, and reduces its CO² emissions by over 33 tons of CO² per year.
