Course Description:

Give your first tracks a whole new meaning.

Interest in uphilling is on the rise, and the trend is reaching the Midwest. There is more to going up than just grip-and-stride, though-- and this group tour will explore tactics and options when it comes to technique, trail choices, resort access, equipment options, and conversations to have with your guests about non-lift served skiing and riding.

The group starts early, tours up, turns down, do a second lap, and then spends the rest of the morning working on our lift-served turns. Equipment choice is up to you, but participants should come with alpine gear with touring bindings, Telemark gear, a split board, and suitable climbing skins. Rental equipment may be available locally but isn't guaranteed. Ideal for the first time touring participant and seasoned climber- this is an idea-sharing event for growing participation.
