Course Description:

Unveiling the Summit: This unique on-snow assessment is your gateway to demonstrating the ability to train fellow ski instructors, all while showcasing your mastery of people skills, teaching skills, and technical/ skiing skills.. Guided by the standards set by PSIA-RM and the Cross Country RMT assessment form, you will be evaluated on the criteria for RMT certification, receiving valuable feedback to refine your performance.

The Path to Summit: To participate, hold a Level 3 Cross Country Certification and have completed the Cross Country RMT Preparation Clinic. Complete the online PSIA-RM Cross Country RMT Workbook to lay the groundwork for your journey. Equip yourself with knowledge from the PSIA Level 3 Cross Country National Standards, defining the fundamentals of teaching, skiing skills, and people skills.

Preparing for Ascent: Gather your classic skis, skate skis, boots, and poles. While waxable classic skis are highly recommended, they are not mandatory, yet showcasing your skiing skills is paramount. Prepare your equipment, optimizing your performance for assessment. We also highly recommend checking out the comprehensive outline available at: https://www.psia-rm.org/education/cross-country/.

Climbing Higher: During the assessment, join a community of dedicated educators committed to your success. The power of collective learning and shared experiences will drive this event towards success. Be an active participant, contributing, sharing, and listening, fostering an environment of growth and camaraderie.

Unveiling the Journey: Educators will provide transparent guidance, ensuring that you receive insights and have one-on-one sessions for feedback. You'll receive the RMT Assessment Form, an invaluable tool for capturing personal feedback, insights, and teaching ideas.

Summit Agenda: As the sun rises, check-in marks the beginning of your journey. Engage in an introduction, an overview of the day, and a shared goal setting before you venture into the snow. The assessment unfolds over two days, with classic skiing in the morning and skate skiing in the afternoon.

Peaks of Expertise: Showcase your skiing skills, lead clinic sessions, and excel in people skills. As you analyze fellow skiers' skills and communicate effectively, the event becomes a reflection of your expertise.

Descent and Reflection: As the assessment draws to a close, you'll receive verbal confirmation of your success, with the completed assessment form delivered within 24 hours. But your journey doesn't end there. Contribute to enhancing future experiences through an online Assessment Event evaluation form, sharing your insights and suggestions.

Join the Summit: Step onto the path of transformation, where mastery meets instruction. The Cross Country RMT On Snow Assessment is your invitation to reach new heights, refine your abilities, and share in a community driven by excellence.
