Course Description:

Thank you for your interest in joining the AASI-E Snowboard Development (DEV) Team.

The DEV Team is designed to identify, train, and mentor inspirational instructors that show significant potential to develop into the role of an Eastern Division Examiner. These individuals must perform at a minimum at the Level 3 National Standard, demonstrate inspiring teaching and riding talent, show potential for future development, and demonstrate the ability to connect with the membership of PSIA/AASI within all phases of the PSIA Connection Model. Becoming a member of the AASI-E DEV Team is not a guaranteed path to becoming an AASI Examiner. However, becoming a member of the DEV Team is an excellent opportunity to train towards that goal as you develop the needed personal and professional skills to be able to educate and certify snowboard professionals to the standard that the AASI-E Education Staff holds itself to.

While there is no AASI National Standard for performance above the Level 3 certification, the Eastern Division, AASI members, Eastern Division Office Staff, and AASI-E Education Staff, expect that members of the AASI-E DEV Team, will develop skills to exceed the Level 3 National Standard for riding, teaching, and technical knowledge. Furthermore, team members are expected to actively grow and improve in these areas at all times, must epitomize the athleticism, commitment, openness, selflessness, and passion that is required to make changes, and be inspirational and motivational for teammates, BOE members, AASI members, PSIA/AASI member schools, and resort guests.

By February 20, 2023, all candidates trying out for the AASI-E Development Team must submit the following application package using this link: https://fs9.formsite.com/PSIA-AASI-E/h7bdivwbdp/index.html

  3. Submit a Job Specific Cover Letter (not to exceed one typed page)
  4. Provide 1 Letter of Reference from a professional/business contact in the Snowsports Industry.
  5. Submit One (1) five hundred maximum word writing sample describing a key move/concept that has helped with your personal riding development (think of this as a sample submission for SnowPro or 32 Degrees)
