Course Description:

Course Name: Level I Learn to Tele
Discipline: Telemark
Time: 2 Days

Environment: Green to groomed blue terrain
Prerequisites: Open to all members and non-members
Course Description:
Beginner progressions and movement analysis along with skier improvement will be the focus of these events. Utilizing the Telemark Components and understanding the many ways to introduce and learn the Telemark turn are the goals. Lots of skiing and practice teaching to insure the participant can tele, understand and teach the sport upon completion. Must be able to negotiate down green circle terrain to participate. Your competency will depend on if you can obtain level I or not.
Learning Experiences:
Specific activities will vary depending on the group and environmental conditions; however, they will typically include:
• Understand the stepping stones approach to teaching
• Learnt he factors in a lesson that you can affect and those you cannot
• Understand that learning is rarely linear ad that there are no outcomes guaranteed by using a particular drill or progression
• Review the Core Concepts approach to lesson formation: copy, choose, create
• Incorporate some new drills and progressions into your own lessons.
