Position: Director of Instructional Programs

Location: White Pass Ski Area, White Pass, WA

White Pass Ski Area is in search of an enthusiastic snowsports leader looking to be part of a growing resort!  White Pass is entering its next phase of growth, which includes new snowsports facilities and a reimagining of snowsports programs. White Pass Ski Area, nestled in the picturesque Cascade Mountains and close to the stunning Mt. Rainier National Park, is a vibrant community dedicated to fostering a love for alpine skiing and racing. Our alpine ski racing club is known for its strong sense of community, a passion for the sport, and a commitment to athlete development both on and off the snow. We are surrounded by USFS designated wilderness, yet housing opportunities exist just 20 miles west of the ski area in Packwood, WA, or 37 miles east of the summit in Naches, WA. Job Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Director of Instructional Programs to lead the development of our new learning center. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our programs, including the design and implementation of terrain, lifts, and buildings that will enhance the guest experience.

This is a full-time position seasonal position from September through May, with potential for year-round employment for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of a new terrain-based learning center.
• Oversee the design and construction of terrain, lifts, and buildings for the learning center.
• Develop and implement innovative learn-to-ski and snowboard programs.
• Recruit, train, and manage a team of skilled instructors.
• Ensure exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high standards of instruction and customer service.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate learning programs with overall resort operations.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, adjusting as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in ski and snowboard instruction, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong background in program development and implementation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and lead a team of instructors.
• Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for guest experience.
• Knowledge of terrain development and lift operations is a plus.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• PSIA / USSS accreditation
• Experience with competitive snowsports programs
