Registration is now open for a free webinar this Wednesday from the International Association of Education in Science and Snowsports (IAESS) as well as a Tuesday Tea Talk in April with special guest Pete Allison.

British Association of Snowsports Instructors Webinar

During the IAESS webinar, scheduled for Mar 8, 2023, 07:00 PM Universal Time UTC (noon Mountain Time), the British Association of Snowsports Instructors (BASI) Product Team will give an overview of where BASI is now, the current structure and post Brexit landscape.

The team will discuss the disciplines and levels and how courses are delivered through training and assessment. All BASI Trainers maintain high standards to remain current, partly by attending a Quality Assurance process, which the team will explain. The team will also introduce some Interski topics which link to the future direction of BASI.

Tea Talks Will Welcome Pete Allison

In April’s Tuesday Tea Talk with Stacey Gerrish, Stacey welcomes Pete Allison, a professor at Penn State University in the Department for Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management. Pete works in two main areas: snowsports and outdoor and experiential learning.

For the past six years, Pete has worked with PSIA-AASI to progress the alignment project and enhance the teaching and learning quality across all PSIA-AASI regions. He’s also developing credit-bearing certificates in Snowsports Education through the World Campus at Penn State. He is also the Vice President of the International Association of Education and Science in Snowsports – one of the three pillar associations of Interski.
